Background of the Chef.

I am an enthusiastic, hard-working chef with a wide range of experience of over 18 years in the event catering industry and high-class cuisine, which includes cooking for members of the royal family and being part of the team that catered for the world leaders at the NATO Summit in 2014.


After studying at Burton College, I completed my apprenticeship at New Farm Catering, Hanbury. My training at New Farm put me in very good stead for a long stint at Celtic Manor Resort, South Wales, where I was given many opportunities to develop my skills in catering for large scale high end corporate events and gain experience in a wide range of cuisine.


Together with Chris Scarratt at New Farm Catering, I have been running my own events catering business in the Midlands for several years. The Covid years were tough for my business, as they were for many of us, but I branched out where I could until we were able to bounce back.


I had always been interested in various BBQ cuisine, but in the depths of lockdown in 2021, I started to research and follow smoker cuisine chefs in the USA and Canada. After a chef’s development day led by Andy Daniels at New Farm Catering on smoker cuisine, this gave me the idea of finding or building my own smoker and branching out to set up my own Smoker Cuisine business as we came out of Covid. In May 2023, Vulcan Smoker Cuisine was officially launched.


I am hugely passionate about cooking and the special place food has for any business function or corporate event. Being from a big family, feeding the five thousand at dinner time has always been something that has given me great joy.


I started Vulcan Smoked Cuisine with the simple desire to cook delicious, heart-warming and exciting food for friends and families to share as they come together to celebrate.


Having spent the last fifteen years exploring flavour and learning the craft of cuisines from across the world- from Asian street food to Texas BBQ – at Vulcan Smoker Cuisine, we blend a range of elements from fine dining and different smoked BBQ meat cultures to provide our unique cuisine. Although we think global in our recipes, we think local in our products, only using the best locally sourced meats.


We offer a range of different menus to suit the vibe of your corporate event, always with the unique party piece of live-flame smoker cooking. Our chefs can also create additional packages to cover different dietary needs. Your colleagues and associates cannot fail to be impressed with this original food experience.
